There have been protests in support of Afrin around the world today. Protest in Leicester City Centre 24 March 2018 – About 100 people gathered at the Leicester Clock Tower, organised by Leicester Kurdish Solidarity Campaign and local Kurds.

Kurds in Rojava valiantly prevented ISIS from extending its power in Syria. Kurds in Syria are now being targeted by the Turkish State and its allies while the world stands by. Update, and Saleh Muslim in Leicester 19 November 2016

Hi, for updates on the situation for Kurds, especially those in Syria please see http://supportkurds.org which has a blog a day. There are Facebook pages for International Support Kurds in Syria and for Leicester Kurdish Solidarity Campaign.

I’m pleased to say that Saleh Muslim came to speak in Leicester. These are some notes from his speech:

PYD and young people are the future. The international crisis need solving.

Things will change like they have since World War 1 and World War 2.

This is War World 3: policies and the systems need changing.  The world has become a small village. People are looking for democracy. Free Ocalan demonstration 30 July 2016

Öcalan’s freedom is not only a key demand of millions of Kurds. Together with the release of the other political prisoners, it is a necessary step on the way to peace. Öcalan is recognised by all sides as the key person for a real process. He has put a peaceful solution on the Kurdish people’s agenda. His “Road Map” is the only comprehensive peace plan on the table so far. He has to be Free and able to communicate with all parties concerned.

We call on You to attend this demonstration for the sake of our Kurdish movement and our leader Öcalan.
